"CONFESSIONS OF A CHOCOHOLIC"
Happy 4th of July weekend!
I’m spending the long weekend in Portsmouth with Matt (follow along on Instagram) so I’m just popping in to say hello to everyone and also to share this wonderful new ice cream favorite of mine. It’s made right here in Boston, and I fell hard and I fell fast.
Friends, let me introduce you to little g ice cream.
There’s a lot of things to love about little g, but let me name a few:
First, the flavors. I tried strawberry shortcake (vanilla bean ice cream + buttery pound cake chunks + strawberry compote swirl) and hot chocolate (creamy chocolate ice cream + homemade marshmallow swirl) and both were incredible. Sooo creamy and sweet.
Second, it’s a small and local business. little g ice cream is made in Boston (out of Dorchester, to be exact) and all the mix-ins are made from scratch, then incorporated into the ice cream by hand.
Third, the brains behind this company is a 17 year old! Grace Connor started baking at age 5 (she baked a birthday cake for her dad, and you can imagine I have a soft spot for fathers and daughters sharing a sweet tooth) and she launched little g ice cream co in January 2016.
Grace creates her own versions of nostalgic flavors featuring creative mix-ins. I’m going to hunt down these other Summer 2016 flavors: Ice White Chocolate Mocha Latte, Sea Salt Fudge Chunk, and Snack Attack (vanilla bean ice cream + pretzels + potato chips + buttery crackers + peanut butter cups + candy coated chocolates). You should read the Snack Attack ingredients again and join me and my cravings.
little g ice cream is currently sold at Bee’s Knees in Allston, Formaggio Kitchen in Cambridge, and Siena Farms in the South End, and can be ordered on the website for delivery in the greater Boston area. National delivery coming soon!
Hope you’re all having a great summer. I’ll be back next week with another sweet and icy recipe!
